ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) - Received specialized training to serve the needs of residential Buyer Representation
ASP (Accredited Staging Professional) - Designated as a Realtor familiar with staging AND fully trained as a staging professional with access to many staging resources.
BPOR (Broker Price Opinion Resource) - Trained to provide reports (similar to appraisals) to financial institutions in order to assist in determining current and potential property values. Reports are typically used in pre-foreclosure property valuation. (Please note, although BPO reports are similar to appraisals, they are not a replacement for appraisals and cannot be used as basis for obtaining financing).
CDPE (Certified Distressed Property Expert) - Trained to educate home owners that are facing potential foreclosure or who may be having difficulty affording their mortgage about available options, strategies, and consequences of each option. Early discussion is best, as more options are available before payments have been missed.
CHS (Certified HAFA Specialist) - Training and regular updates received regarding the HAFA (Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives) program and how it works with the Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP). These are two programs that participating lenders have set up to streamline the loan modification and short sale processes.
CPRES (Certified Probate Real Estate Specialists) - Training and ongoing support in the area of Inherited property sales, especially those in varois stages of Probate.
CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) - Awarded by the National Association of Realtors and considered by most industry professionals to be the highest Realtor Designation that can be achieved by a Realtor. Achieved through demonstrated competency, volume of transactions completed, and advanced course work in residential real estate. Ongoing continuing education is required to maintain his designation.
DRS Agent (TM) - Certification of commitment to understand and serve the specialized real estate and lending needs of physicians and medical students.
GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) - Completion of a year long program of advanced Realtor course work.
MRP (Military Relocation Professional) Certification of training and commitment to understand and serve the specialized real estate and lending needs of active U.S. Military personnel, reservists, and veterans
RCS-D (Real Estate Collaborative Specialist-Divorce) - Trained to council couples who are considering divorce about pre and post divorce options pertaining to real estate and financing. More options are available and pitfalls can be avoided if advice is given prior to divorce settlement.
SFR (Short Sale Foreclosure Resource) - Designation from National Association of Realtors indicating training received in Short Sales and Foreclosures
SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist) - Received specialized education to help those 50+ through lifestyle transitions involving relocation, refinancing, or selling the family home. Knowledge in areas including Active adult, Gated 55+ communities, assisted living, Prop 60/90, aging in place, reverse mortgage purchases, etc.
SRS (Seller Resource Specialist) - Completion of education and proven record of working specifically with assisting property owners through the listing process, resulting in successful sales.
Member of Collaborative Practice of Silicon Valley (CPSV):
A group of Divorce professionals and Trust and Estate professionals working to help families find legal solutions that preserve family relationships and legacies. I have completed the following CPSV training:
- 40 hours of mediation training from Gary Friedman at the Center for Understanding
- Collaborative Practice Basic Interdisciplinary Training - training in the Collaborative Practice Divorce process
- Collaborative Practice Basic Interdisciplinary Training (T&E) - Collaborative Trust & Estates Training
I continue to attend seminars and classes to stay current with changes in the industry and better meet my client needs. I have also been active member of the SCCAOR Housing Opportunities Committee. A committee of approximately one dozen Realtors and affiliates who work to educate other Realtors, lenders, and the local community
about housing opportunities, down payment assistance programs, and foreclosure prevention. The committee organizes home buyer education and foreclosure prevention events. I have also been a regular volunteer counselor at the Foreclosure Help Center of Santa Clara County.
What I offer
Currently serving Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties (yes, effectively), I work to present options that are based on each client's unique goals. This can be based on a milestone in life (first home, marriage, growing family, downsizing, relocation, divorce, death (inherited homes, probate, etc.), financial goals (building equity, investment, planning for retirement, estate planning, etc.) or a number of other reasons. A real estate goal can be long or short term, but either way, it is usually a significant financial decision that can greatly affect our lifestyle and ability to achieve future goals. I work to I assist my clients in making informed decisions about when and how to act towards a goal. I truly do strive to be a resource and expert that my clients can rely on throughout their lives and transitioning goals. I realize that degree of trust is earned by listening and offering options to the client, taking care of clients to the best of my abilities and staying informed with the latest analysis and marketing tools. A client may have an immediate need, while others may be laying down he foundation for a goal significantly in the future. Real estate needs are as unique as the people who have them. Clients are people, not transactions. I enjoy creating an elated client by exceeding expectations as a trusted advisor and in flawless execution of goals.
A California native, I grew up in Cupertino, CA and have lived and worked throughout most of the SF bay area for the past 30 years. My first career was as an electrical engineer working in Silicon Valley. Although I always liked "solving the puzzle" during the design process, I always had an interest in real estate. Since the age of 17, working in a photo shop and providing Realtors with photo prints for their flyers (before the age of digital!), I was always picking up real estate magazines in supermarkets and dragging my friends and family to open houses. I always loved finding the "hidden gem" or value priced home for friends and seeing the transition that homes underwent when preparing them for the market.
Eventually, I bought my first home. Due to the fact that my agent's office closed without notification, during the purchase, I had to learn the nuts and bolts of a real estate transaction quickly in order to save my purchase! I believed that I deserved more from my agent and that belief now translates as to how I serve my clients. Over the next few years, my experience of having to fight to keep my own transaction together led me to assist people with friendly assistance whenever they needed real estate help. I took pride in finding great investment properties and loan programs for anyone that asked.
When I started representing Sellers, I found that I was frequently able to help property owners sell their property faster and at higher amounts than similar, neighboring properties offered to the market in the same tome frame. "Solving the puzzle" of a great real estate transaction and facilitating a client's goal had come to be an exciting and rewarding experience. While I am qualified for different professions, my desire to be challenged, achieve where others have failed, and help people achieve what they may have not thought was possible, has led me to be passionate in my work as a full time REALTOR.
Hobbies/Interests [Yes, I'm actually human ;) ]
I do love being a Full Time REALTOR. Still, I try to avoid driving my husband insane by being too one dimensional; balance in life is important. So, I do have a few hobbies. I love viewing and creating art (mostly painting). I love to garden. However, one year, due to a busy workload, only my cacti survived :( . Currently, I am back to composting and thankfully have everything on drip (whew). Whenever I get a chance, I like to cook. My husband, Shawn, says that the first time he had my lasagna, he knew that he had to have it for the rest of his life. Yep, lasagna closed the deal! Speaking of Shawn, he is my rock and keeps me grounded both personally and professionally. When and if I start to get too full of myself, he reminds me to always remember what it was like to be on "the other side of the desk".
